(It takes Aviva)
Creating a more sustainable world takes social and climate action.
“Building a sustainable future for our customers, for ourselves, is going to take bold actions and decisive leadership. I’m determined that Aviva plays our part to the full.” Amanda Blanc, Group Chief Executive Officer of Aviva.
(Where are we taking action?)
We’ve focussed on our key ambitions:
Reaching Net Zero by 2040.
Taking social action to help regenerate our communities,
And embed sustainability right across our business.
(Taking Social Action)
We’re taking social action.
We have donated £9m to our partners Citizens Advice and Money Advice Trust to help our communities with their financial resilience.
Contributed over £12million to over 8000 UK local change makers through the Aviva Community Fund since 2015.
Spent 87,599 hours volunteering in 2023.
Invested billions in UK infrastructure including:
- Urban regeneration
- Social housing
- Renewable energy
- and electronic vehicle charging networks
(Taking Climate Action)
We’re taking climate action.
Using 100% renewable electricity
Making progress towards our 2040 Net Zero ambition and trying to help the UK to be the most climate-ready large economy.
On the ground we worked with WWF on the Save Our Wild Isles Community Fund.
Partnering with leading conservation charities to protect and restore biodiversity, and remove carbon from the atmosphere through a range of nature-based solutions, including reintroducing some of the UK’s lost rainforests.
Provided approximately £1.7 billion of financing for renewable energy infrastructure projects.“
(Embedding Sustainability)
We’re embedding sustainability into our business.
Innovating to offer sustainable choices in our products, services and investments, and support our customers with cost-of-living challenges.
Doing more to build a supportive, diverse and inclusive organisation. 88% employees would recommend Aviva as a great place to work. 10.8% of senior leaders are from ethnically diverse communities, and we achieved our goal of having 40% of senior management positions held by women.
It takes social and climate action. It takes everyone playing their part. It takes Aviva.
