Norwich Union International Limited, Norwich Union's offshore company, has launched 17 new funds. These include three euro and three dollar risk-rated funds of funds to be managed by Investment Manager Selection (IMS) the multi-manager fund selection company.

In addition, new improved versions of the sterling funds of funds are also available. The sterling funds now allow IMS to select from all available Standard & Poor's rated funds. (Note that IMS selections will be subject to agreement with Norwich Union International).

This move comes close to the anniversary of Norwich Union International's collaboration with IMS and endorses the excellent first-year performance achieved on the IMS-managed sterling funds of funds. The performance of all three IMS funds of funds has exceeded that of their peers over the last year, by as much as 2.7%. (Source: Lipper Hindsight. See below for comparative charts)

Norwich Union International has also taken the opportunity to review the range of funds available on its two bonds. It has added 17 new funds, including 4 internal and 13 external funds, bringing the total number of funds available on its Portfolio Bond to 96 and on its Investment Bond to 30.

Katrina Walsh, Investment Funds Marketing Manager at Norwich Union International said: "We are delighted to have launched euro and dollar multi-manager funds and to have strengthened our sterling offering. The performance of the sterling funds since launch has been very encouraging and with over 1,000 Standard & Poor's rated funds to select from, we are confident IMS will continue to use their expertise to maintain this high standard. At Norwich Union International we are committed to offering our investors an active portfolio managed option, which draws upon the skills of a highly focused multi-manager specialist. And the good news for investors is that this enhanced service costs nothing extra, it's all included in a single annual management charge of 1.5%. Just select which fund of fund matches the investors' risk profile, and leave the rest to IMS."

"The multi-manager fund of funds is, in our view, a dynamic product", stated IMS Research Director Paul Kim. "It enables investors to access some of the best managers around the world, in a portfolio blending different asset classes and styles. It also is a very tax efficient vehicle, as it defers capital gains tax, whilst allowing the portfolio to be actively managed."
