Norwich Union today launches its latest TV advertising campaign featuring a new commercial designed to get people to think more about their own finances and encouraging them to seek information and advice.
The campaign features two adverts looking at aspects of financial planning. The new advert shows how people can take control of their finances by getting the right information and advice. The hero of the ad – a financially savvy Geordie trawlerman – tells us how he has spoken with his financial adviser and now regards himself as “… the chancellor of me own exchequer” because he has got his finances in order.
The other advert explores the issues and choices that people have to face as they approach retirement. It suggests that the secret of retirement is to ask questions.
Norwich Union has also produced a retirement guide to help IFAs in the retirement market. Called “The guide to the life you deserve after work”, it details a number of different scenarios people may have to confront around the time of retirement, suggesting possible solutions for them to consider.
Commenting on the new campaign, Sally Shire, Director of Brand & Communications at Norwich Union, said: “Our latest campaign demonstrates Norwich Union’s commitment to developing the life and pensions market. The adverts are designed to reinforce the message that people need to play a more active role in their finances.
“In today’s environment it is important that people get the right information and advice. Whether it’s planning for retirement or simply getting their finances in order, reliable information and advice is vital in making the right decisions for an individual’s own personal set of circumstances.
“Norwich Union is keen to tackle the issues that people are facing, providing guidance and help in uncertain times and giving customers confidence that we’ll still be around in years to come.
“To tie in with the campaign, we have produced a free guide to help people think about the decisions they’ll need to consider at retirement and give them an idea of some of the solutions that are available."
Independent financial advisers can get copies of the guide for their clients by contacting their Norwich Union sales consultant or visiting www.norwichunion.com/ifa.
