Aviva's short-term travel insurance is aimed at people who are planning a single trip outside Poland. The policy can only be bought via the internet, making it a further product available through the direct system.
The basic insurance package includes treatment costs while abroad as well as immediate assistance. Customers can also choose additional options: civil liability insurance, luggage insurance and personal accident insurance. Insurance coverage can be extended to include events connected with recreational skiing, snowboarding and diving.
The insured sum depends on the country being visited and can be modified by the customer within specified limits. The lowest premium is 15 zlotys and in the majority of cases it comes to 60-70 zlotys. The insurance can be bought within a matter of minutes at www.aviva.pl/majatek/wpodrozy.html.
"This offer is aimed at active people wanting to travel abroad, who are comfortable using the internet and who want to find and pay for their insurance quickly," says Rafa¿ Klepuszewski, manager of the risk assessment team at Aviva Towarzystwie Ubezpiecze¿ Ogólnych SA.
Since December 2009, Aviva has also had a special offer for customers of Ski Team sports shop. Customers can insure their ski equipment for burglary, civil liability and personal accidents. Anyone who makes a purchase in any Ski Team store can buy one of three insurance packages online at www.skiteam.pl/aviva. The insurance provides worldwide protection, excluding USA and Canada, for five months from the purchase date.
Another interesting offer from Aviva is the Travel Partner annual travel insurance, aimed at people who often travel abroad privately or on business. The coverage includes treatment costs abroad, as well as assistance, luggage insurance, civil liability insurance and – optionally – personal accident insurance.
