- Aviva Clarity was launched in April 2024 to simplify and expediate the BPA transaction process, making the market more accessible for smaller schemes.
- The service has so far completed transactions valued at over £1.5bn, supporting over 80 schemes – with 24 schemes so far this year.
Aviva is marking the one-year anniversary of its streamlined service, Aviva Clarity - demonstrating its commitment as a whole-of-market provider. The insurer has reported a steady flow of smaller schemes coming to market since the start of the year, with 24 Aviva Clarity transactions in 2025.
The Aviva Clarity template provides accurate and transactable pricing for a wide range of benefit features, with price locks available for schemes of any size. It is used across both pre and post transaction activities, underpinning a robust and highly efficient process that supports trustees on their journey to buy-out.
Aviva has used trustee and adviser feedback to evolve the Aviva Clarity service and improvements have translated to quicker timescales from initial quote through to buy-out. Aviva recently announced a £4.8m buy out with A Gomez, that moved to buy-out in 5 months from initial quote.
It’s gone from strength to strength since launch, highlighting that the insurance pathway is accessible for well-prepared schemes, irrespective of size.
Jamie Cole, Distribution Director of BPA at Aviva commented: “Aviva helps schemes of all sizes with their de-risking ambitions and Aviva Clarity is our dedicated proposition for smaller schemes. It’s gone from strength to strength since launch, highlighting that the insurance pathway is accessible for well-prepared schemes, irrespective of size. Aviva Clarity is designed to deliver an efficient process for trustees – starting with access to quotation and extending all the way to buy-out, thanks to a ‘one-and-done’ template and robust post-transaction planning and execution.”
Beyond the transaction, the insurer collaborates closely with Aviva Investors to channel BPA funds into UK assets including transport, social housing, student accommodation, wind and solar power and commercial real estate.
