For our people
Through our employee listening survey, an overwhelming majority of our people say they believe Aviva is a good corporate citizen. Here are some of the reasons why:
Sustainable benefits
All our people set a goal to help support sustainability, and we provide learning on a range of sustainability topics.
Our people can choose to give to charity and community organisations through fundraising or payroll giving, and Aviva matches these donations (limits apply). This helps communities get more, and rewards our people's efforts.
UK colleagues can choose to offset carbon and opt into an electric car scheme.
All our people can take three days paid volunteering leave each year. Our volunteers get involved in all sorts, from lending skills to litter picking.
In the office
Visit a typical Aviva office today, and you’ll see some changes we’re making for a brighter tomorrow, like:
• Installing EV charging points in our UK car parks in Norwich, Perth, Bristol, Sheffield and London.
• Reminding our people to switch off and unplug at the end of the day.
• Encouraging people to minimise the use of paper-based processes and encourage digital only documents.
• RE100 - the global corporate renewable energy initiative bringing together hundreds of large and ambitious businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity. In 2022, we achieved our goal three years early through a combination of energy efficiency projects, installing renewable electricity generation infrastructure, smart purchasing of certified renewable electricity, and where this is not possible, through purchasing of energy certificates to match consumption to renewable generation.
The Aviva Community Fund
What is the Aviva Community Fund?
The Aviva Community Fund helps local causes and projects – with funding, but also with access to tools and resources, like volunteering and professional coaching.
It’s there to help communities build the kind of long-term, sustainable projects that they need – and help us all look forward to a brighter future.
Twice a year we give our people a voucher to donate to a cause they care about who have applied for funding - they can get updates on how the money is spent.
